GST Hisab

About Us

Who runs GST Hisab, and why.

GST Hisab is run by Girish Kapale from Pune, Maharashtra. It started with a simple problem. Working out GST on a bill should take ten seconds, yet most calculators online either round badly, still show old rates, or bury the answer under pop-ups.

So the site does one job. You type an amount, pick a rate, and get the base price, the tax and the CGST, SGST or IGST split, worked out to the paisa. The guides next to each tool explain the rule in plain English or Hindi, with examples you can check by hand.

How the numbers are checked

The maths uses exact decimal arithmetic rather than ordinary floating point, so ₹0.01 errors do not creep in. Rounding follows the usual invoice practice of half a paisa rounding up. Every calculator runs against a set of automated tests before a change goes live.

Rates are compared with CBIC notifications and GST Council decisions. When a rate changes, we update it and the date on the page moves. The last full review was on 29 October 2026.

What this site is not

GST Hisab is an independent website. It has no link with CBIC, GSTN, the GST Council or any government office. The tools help you check figures. They do not decide which rate applies to your goods, and they are not tax or legal advice. For a filing or an invoice that matters, please confirm with a Chartered Accountant or GST practitioner.
